Member of the European Parliament for the Socialist Group and Deputy Mayor of Paris (France)
As Member of the European Parliament (EP), Pierre Schapira is also member of the Committee on Development of the EP and of Delegation for relations with Israel of the EP. Furthermore he is substitute of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and of the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. As Deputy Mayor of Paris Pierre Schapira is responsible for international relations and the French-Speaking World. Mr Schapira also is former Vice-President of the French Economic and Social Council (1984-2004) and former Commissioner of the National Commission for Information Technology and Freedoms (CNIL) (1999-2004). He is a crowned Knight of the Legion of Honour.
