Dubravka Suica
Mayor of Dubrovnik, Vice-President of the Chamber of Local Authorities of the Congress of the Council of Europe
Dubravka Suica is the mayor of Dubrovnik, Croatia. Born in 1957, she started her career as a professor of English and German. Elected first in 2001 as the first female mayor in Dubrovnik’s history, she is currently serving her second term and also sits in the Croatian Parliament for the Croatian Democratic Union.
She is the president of the Croatian delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and has been re-elected in may 2008 as first vice-president of the local chamber of the Congress.
In 2006 she was elected one of the Top 10 World Mayors at the competition organized by World Mayor.
