Charles Josselin
President of United Cities (France)
After having started his career as an economist, Charles Josselin became involved in politics in 1973 when he was elected as a socialist deputy; later he was President of the General Council of Côtes d’Armor from 1976 until 1997. Since 2006 he has been a Senator representing Côtes d’Armor and is a member of the commission for economic affairs and of the delegation for European Communities.
Mr. Josselin has been successively Secretary of State for Transport from 1985 to 1986, Secretary of State for the Sea from 1992 to 1993; later he was Secretary of State for Cooperation and Francophony in 1997. From 1998 to 2002, he functioned as Minister of State for Cooperation and Francophony.
He has been President of United Cities France since 2005.
