Barryl Biekman

Barryl Biekman is involved in regular project management work in Surinam for assisting in the implementation of Human resource management, capacity building and the institutionalisation of training programs. In past years, Barryl Biekman worked in various positions in The Netherlands and Surinam and was active with the realisation of twinning projects in South Africa. Barryl Biekman has been active in both the Pan African and Women’s Movement for about 40 years. She started in the Youth Movement when she was 14 and when she was 21 she was one of the freedom fighters for the independence of Suriname. She has been elected Member of Parliament of the Dutch Province South Holland for four years. She holds numerous awards for her longstanding track record on issues of gender and youth.
