President of the Province of Barcelona

Obtained his degree in Biology and taught at the Gimbernat University School. He has been member of the City Council of Santa Coloma de Gramenet since 1987, becoming member of the Provincial Council of Barcelona in 1996. At the Diputació de Barcelona he has had responsibilities such as Head of the Environment Area and President of the Network for Sustainable Cities (1999-2003), Head of the Cultural Area (2003-2004), and Head of Local Government Area (2004-2008). Since 2008 he is the President of the Province of Barcelona.
