Antoine Ntwari

Municipal Counselor and Member of the Senate (Burundi)
Mr. Antoine Ntwari, 48 years old, is a Senator and President of the Communal Council of Burundi; he has a Master's Degree in Science and Applied Engineering. He entered the political scene during the democratic elections of 2005 that were won by his political party, the CNDD-FDD. He was doubly present and elected in the communal and senatorial elections.
At the communal level, he presides over the Council of the Community where he was born and deals with, along with his fellow executives, all matters that have to do with the development of the community.
In the Burundi Senate, the Honorable A. Ntwari presides over the permanent Commission in charge of administrative affairs, of decentralization, and of control over representation within institutions.  He also plays a role as principal moderator in the sessions of meetings organized in the 17 provinces of Burundi. The crowning of his work has been the successfully setting up an Association of Local Elected Officials of Burundi, ABELO.
